If it was mandatory for every JW to investigate this site in order to overcome objections there would be no more JW organization, maybe a few hundred....There is no way for any sane person to come here for a few weeks and not wake up to the real truth.....

Why I like this site
by UnshackleTheChains inthe reason i like this site is in the fact that it speaks the truth warts and all.
the very title 'jehovahs witness discussion forum' draws the avarage witness to the site, perhaps thinking it is 'apostate' free.. the good thing is that jw's can read the real truth about the organisation/society...no holds barred.
my hope is that more people caught up in this captive religious organisation will open their eyes to reality!.

Is there any humor in the bible?
by Normalfulla inhumor plays a big part in a lot of humanity and we all like a good laugh but as far as i'm aware god's supposed word has no actual humor ,of course apart from being a joke itself ,why wasn't there a passage or something like "jesus farted and giggles broke out among them " or something, is anyone aware of any notations of humor ?

Acts 19:13-16 Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to expel evil spirits.."We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches", the evil spirit answered "Jesus I know and Paul I know but who the hell are you"..The evil spirit leaped on them, over powered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of the house naked and wounded..You can't make this sh--t up, it must be true..LOL

Jesus goes from age 12-30 without any word of what happened in between, not one word from a friend or neighbor. Example "Jesus wasn't always so Holy, I knew Jesus when we were young men chasing the ladies". Sources about Jesus several decades after the fact...Historians have measures in term of a burden of proof. If an author for instance is writing about a subject more than 100 years after it occurred it isn't considered valid. Another important metric is the validity of authorship, if the author cannot be clearly established, it makes the record for less reliable..But again we are dealing with facts and miracles (supernatural occurrence)....

The main reason folks are waking up (JW)..Today there is no reason to be a victim of a scam (and yes JW is a scam). I receive a unknown phone number, I look it up and most cases a scam( I won some trip some place when I never register for it). It has been said here before, if the net had been around in the 60's no way would there be 8 million JW's today.......

by cognisonance in12 have empathy for unbelieving relatives.
while we may be overjoyed about the bible truths we have learned, our relatives may mistakenly believe that we have been tricked or have become part of a cult.
we should show empathy by trying to see things from their viewpoint and by listening carefully to discern their real concerns.

Jehovah's people are not happy people
by Phoebe ini finally stopped attending the meetings about 4 months go.
i won't be going back - ever.. but i've decided the best reply to the watchtower is to be happy and i do try to be happy every day even thought i wasted my entire life on this religion.
i cherish every day, practice mindfulness and do my best to be content with the life i have.. it is only now that i see that most jws i know are deeply unhappy people.

Miserable people seem to make friends with other miserable people..They spend as much time as possible distracting themselves from reality..They like to point out flaws in others, bring others down to their level..If you tell a JW you are happy and you are not a JW it don't make sense, you are ignorant you are lying....

Did Jesus pre exist? Yes or no?
by UnshackleTheChains inwhen i first became a witness, i always found the teaching about jesus being the arch angel michael hard to swallow.
i did however believe that jesus pre existed as a master worker alongside god (the first of his creation).. but now everything is brought into question having watched anthony buzzard explain why jesus could not have pre existed as it is impossible to pre exist yourself.
also the fact that it all sounds contradictory to suggest, he was already alive millions of years before he was transferred to mary's womb to be born as a human - the son of man?.

The notion that Jesus had lived as a spirit before he was born takes away the power of his triumph over sin and death and the Bible know nothing of such idea. Only in the NT do we read of Jesus as someone who is alive and taking part in the affairs of human being living on the earth. The Jewish scriptures only speak of Jesus in the sense of looking forward to his coming, not spoken of as already existing, but as someone who would exist one day when the time was right.

Why Are More JWs Claiming to be Anointed?
by Ding inmost jws i know claim they are happy being in the great crowd.
they'd rather live on a paradise earth and pet lions than go to heaven.. heaven is a place they can't relate to, a place where they don't expect their friends and loved ones to be.. so why are more and more jws claiming to be of the anointed?.
aren't they looked down upon as if they are crazy, proud, ignorant, or engaging in apostate thinking?.
